Bathroom restyle

This week Shaun has fitted the floor in our bathroom. We had enough wood left over from doing the rooms downstairs, so it was a lucky bonus to get the floor in there sorted too…. and it looks great!

We have quite a large bathroom, which I love. However the decor leaves a lot to be desired. We can’t afford to restyle and do the room exactly how we want it, so we have to work with what we’ve got at the moment. I think we can lift the room even more if we paint the walls black. It sounds like it shouldn’t work, but it does.

The tiles in there can’t be changed, so we have to work with those and at the moment they are pretty dominant in the scheme. They have a plant motif in places, which I think nod to Art Deco (okay it’s a bit of a stretch, but I can work with it!). This is a period and style I love, so I’ve had a look at some Art Deco bathrooms for inspiration on how to change the scheme within the limits we have for doing it. I think the gloss black walls look stunning in the bathrooms below. So we’re gonna give it a go and see if it works for us. The floor is now oak, so if we stick with black, white and gold for the rest, hopefully we’ll be happy with the results.
