Hang it all! Part ii

Golden rule: hang pictures in a tight arrangement…
This is one for those who are soothed by a more calculated arrangement of pictures. I have to admit this scares me ever so slightly… once I’d get started my o.c.d. monster would go wild. Oh well, at least the final look would be harmonious!

To begin, establish an overall shape – rectangles or oval shapes work best. Then create your arrangement. You can achieve a successful look a number of ways; similar works ( paintings, photos, prints, decorative textiles); a mix of media with a similar theme ( portraits, landscapes, contemporary, personal); or stick to the same colour zone ( think a collection of black & white photographs or an arrangement of landscape paintings in shades of blue and green). You can use either the same style frames or an eclectic selection to finish the look of your arrangement.
